Wagwan! Reggae Jam-Down night is back at the one and only Kenny Dorham's Backyard, a legendary outdoor venue in the heart of central East Austin.
Reggae Jam-Down Nights will take place every month on the second Thursday of the month starting on August 14th and continuing through April 2026 with a hiatus over the winter months.
We will have a house band set up for a full band. We will also have an open mic format where in addition to a variety of reggae classics and a few originals played by the house band other members of the community are welcome to take the stage for a song or short set performing either covers or originals as long as they fit the reggae genre. Songs outside of the genre are acceptable as long as they are "reggaefied."
This event is partially funded by the City of Austin and the Nexus Grant. While the event is free to attend we do encourage donations that will go directly towards the musicians and event staff. So please come join us for these magical nights of music in the city of Austin. One love.
